How does self-improvement harm us?

Live healthier, work better, look more athletic: Many people want to make the best of their lives. But
the desire to be the best version of yourself can become a necessity.

I’ve optimized – and lost a healthy measure.

Self-improvement is the driving force for many people these days.

Whether it’s just the perfect outfit for a walk, the invention of the electric car, or a scientific topic,
that we want to study at breakneck speed:

Optimization or “perfect logistics” seems to be a human need. Unfortunately, the media today constantly tells us that we should be more beautiful, richer, more successful, fitter, healthier, better parents, better partners, better people overall. We believe that we need to constantly improve ourselves so that we don’t fall behind or get left behind. Because: stagnation means a step backwards – do we need constant self-improvement? And when we do that.
we answer in the affirmative, we don’t feel an ever-present sense of inadequacy, with full thoughts of lack: “I’m not smart enough yet! I’m not fit enough yet! I’m not successful enough yet!”

It’s getting higher! It’s getting farther! It’s getting better!

Perfect is what is good!

I changed my life radically a few years ago. But in the end, I overdid it and lived for it.

I was often, if not always, dissatisfied with many things. Probably because years ago, I was captivated
this insistence on perfection, this virus of improvement.
